Play MIDI into notation · Hear it as played · Choose notation · Tuplets
- Play MIDI into notation — What you play on a wind controller or MIDI keyboard is written on the metronome beat. Stray notes between fingerings are removed; fast runs become 32nds, triplets or tuplets.
- Hear it exactly as played — Playback uses your actual performance, with timing, note lengths and breath, not notes snapped to a grid.
- Choose AUTO, 16, 32 or 3 — After recording, one tap rewrites the same take in another notation. No need to play again, and your choice is remembered.
- Sound that follows your breath — App sound follows your wind controller's breath, and sound no longer cuts out while you play.
- Start on the tapped beat · MIDI — Tap beat 3 and the take starts there. Bluetooth MIDI shows up right away, and MIDI devices now work on Android.
- 1.20 Lesson points · Lyrics — Note colouring, loop sections, homework cards and lesson notes, lyrics mode and lyric sheets, the chord player and pressure-sensitive pen.

Wind symbols (fall, doit, scoop, turn, trill, vibrato), write chords with Apple Pencil, chord notation/size/font, add/delete bars, small accidentals, split beams with a stroke.

Change sound, tempo and comping while listening, transpose by a semitone from the chosen bar with per-bar key signatures, place notes and symbols in your pen color, even barlines and tidy spacing.

Voice search works properly in the installed app; fixed the metronome and Performance mode going silent after it. On iPhone, large panels dock as a bottom sheet and the pen menu fits the screen.

Area-select and a transpose bar appears below. Chord spellings, piano charts and guitar boxes change too, and the metronome and tuner can be open together.

Frequently asked questions
Does it work on iPhone?+
Yes, it runs on iPhone. That said, the app is built around drawing on a large screen with Apple Pencil, so we recommend an iPad where possible. It also installs on Apple silicon (M-series) Macs.
Do I need an Apple Pencil?+
No. You can draw with a finger or a third-party stylus. Pressure-sensitive brushes such as the SJ Pen feel best with an Apple Pencil.
Drawing stalls or strokes break up+
This happened in early versions and has been fixed. Please update to the latest version on the App Store or Google Play. If you still see it, tell us your device model and app version through Support and we will look into it quickly.
No sound from the metronome or tuner+
The app is built to play sound even when your device is in silent mode. If you hear nothing, check the media volume in Control Centre. The tuner uses the microphone, so microphone permission for the app must be enabled in Settings.
Where are my scores stored? What if I change device?+
Scores are stored on your device and auto-saved every 30 seconds while you work. Export a .bsn file from Save & Share to keep a backup — open that file on a new device and you carry on exactly where you left off. Always export a .bsn backup before switching devices or deleting the app.
Will I be charged again if I reinstall?+
No. With the same account you can download the app again at no cost, and purchases such as the Drum Pack or String Pack come back via Restore Purchases inside the app. Use the same option if a pack you bought appears locked.
Is there an Android version?+
Yes, the Android version is out. You can write handwritten scores on a Galaxy Tab with the S Pen. Get it on Google Play →
